What a move-out clean usually covers

Expect a deeper scope than a regular weekly visit: empty fridge and oven (inside), cabinets and drawers wiped out, bathrooms scrubbed, floors washed, baseboards and switch plates, closets emptied and wiped, and all trash removed. Ontario deposits and landlord inspections (general education)

This is general information, not legal advice. In Ontario, landlords can typically collect last month's rent and a refundable key deposit — not a separate cleaning or damage deposit. Tenants are generally expected to leave the unit in a state of ordinary cleanliness. A thorough clean still helps: fewer disputes at the final inspection, a smoother reference, and photos that show you did your part.
